BUSINESS INSURANCE • BURNLEY & BEYOND

Liabilities Insurance.
People. Products.
Your responsibilities.

Customers, visitors and the people who work with you are part of everyday business. Talk to our Burnley team about liability insurance that reflects what you do, where you work and who could be affected.

Start with a conversation.

Tell us what your business does, what has changed and when you need cover to start.

Start with the work you actually do.

A short business description can miss important details. Installation, delivery, work at a customer’s premises or products supplied under your name can change the insurance conversation. Tell us about all your activities, including occasional jobs and work carried out by others on your behalf.

Cover options to discuss

Public liability

Discuss claims alleging injury to another person or damage to their property arising from your business activities. The policy’s scope, limits and exclusions matter.

Products liability

If you sell, supply or manufacture products, explain what they are, where they come from and where they are sold. Ask how products-related injury or damage is addressed.

Employers’ liability

Describe your workforce and working arrangements, including temporary staff and labour-only subcontractors. We can discuss the cover required for your circumstances.

A new contract asks for a higher limit.

Send us the insurance requirements before agreeing the contract. A customer may ask for a particular liability limit or wording, but your existing policy should not be assumed to meet it. Explain any new work involved as well as the requested limit.

Prepare for your quote

  • A full description of your activities and where you work.
  • Turnover, wage roll and details of employees and subcontractors.
  • Products supplied, import arrangements and export destinations.
  • Contract requirements, existing limits and previous claims.

Your questions, answered

Does public liability cover professional advice?

Do not assume that it does. Allegations of financial loss from advice, design or professional services should also be discussed under professional indemnity insurance.

Are subcontractors automatically included?

Their role and working arrangements matter. Explain whether they work under your supervision, supply their own materials and carry their own insurance. We will discuss the information an insurer needs.

Can I change the cover when I take on different work?

Contact us before starting the new activity. Describe what will change so the insurer can consider it; a change is not covered simply because you already have a policy.
